Front suspension Camber Plate project

Listed below are step by step pictures of modifying the stock strut towers and installing adjustable camber plates.  The  plates are universal camber plates from Ground Control.  The kit comes with the plate/spherical bearing assembly, upper spring seat with needle bearing and bushings to fit the strut shaft.

The first thing I did was to cut out the raised stamping in the strut tower.  Note the guide line I drew.  I used a jig saw to cut this out, went through two blades on each side.

Next I set the camber plate on top of the strut tower and traced the inside, outside and the bolt holes.  Note the half circle trace on the right side, this is crucial in lining up the next step.

Then I took the bearing/adjuster part of the assembly and made a template by tracing its outline.  Then I lined it up to the half circle trace that was made in the previous step in order to mark the additional material to be removed from the strut tower.

After all the final cuts have been made, I positioned the camber plate and drilled the four mounting holes.
